From Venice: Lakes of the Dolomites Tour with drone video

About This Experience
A circular route around the Dolomite lakes with a drone along for the day, which is the thing that separates it from every other Venice departure. The guide films your group from the air, so you come home with video rather than only phone snapshots.
The published programme leaves Piazzale Roma at 7:30 am and returns around 6:00 pm, taking in Auronzo or Domegge lakes at about 9:30, Lake Misurina from 11:00 to 12:00, and the Cortina valley through the early afternoon, with a short trek around a lake there.
Late in the day there is a short walk to the Tibetan bridge — a suspended footbridge — before the drive home. Stops are flexible: the guide will tell you where you can simply photograph and where it is worth getting out and walking.
Pick-up is from your hotel, which is rare on this route and useful if you are staying away from Piazzale Roma. Bring a windproof jacket and trekking shoes.

This trip was amazing. Our guide was genuinely happy to be doing this. We made many stops for snacks/food so it was a nice break in the drive. Our whole group was wonderful. I’d definitely do this again to see these views!

Such an amazing experience, definitely something to try as you’ll be blown away by the scenery. Filippo was extremely knowledgeable and a great guide for the whole day. Great itinerary which was planned very well with timings given ahead of the day so we knew what to expect. I definitely recommend and would take part again! Top marks for a great and friendly tour guide as Filippo made everyone feel welcome.

Our guide mr pietro made the whole day trip worth it. He was fun, quirky and knowledgeable. We visited all the places in itinerary and had sufficient time at each place. He was very accommodating to everyone’s needs. And the views from the lakes and peaks are worth it. Even the drive all day is very scenic.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the drone video and is it included?
Yes, it is included. The guide flies a drone during the day and films your group against the lakes and peaks, so you leave with aerial footage of the trip. It is the main thing distinguishing this departure from other Venice-to-Dolomites day trips at a similar price.
What time does the day start and finish?
The operator's published programme is 7:30 am at Piazzale Roma in Venice, Auronzo or Domegge lakes around 9:30, Lake Misurina from 11:00 to 12:00, the Cortina valley from 12:00 to 15:00, the Tibetan bridge walk at 16:00, and back at the pick-up point by about 18:00.
Is hotel pick-up really included?
Yes — hotel pick-up and drop-off are listed among the inclusions, which is unusual on this route. Most Venice departures require you to reach Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto under your own steam, so this is worth having if your accommodation is awkward to leave early.
What languages does the guide speak?
English, Italian, Spanish and German. That is the widest language range of any Dolomites departure from Venice, so it is a practical choice if English is not your first language.
How much walking is involved?
Moderate and largely optional. You can choose at each stop whether to walk around the lake or simply take photographs from the van. The one fixed walk is the short trek to the Tibetan bridge late in the day. Trekking shoes and a wind jacket are recommended.
